About The Position

To assist in research and development projects and support engineers in the daily needs of projects and to conduct Q/C testing to support Production units and monitor product quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of eight hours of college-level chemistry; or an associate degree in Chemical Technology (Laboratory); or three years of industrial laboratory experience; or at least 15 consecutive months of experience in a Polyolefins, PVC, or Polymer Analysis laboratory.
  • Lab Instrumentation
  • Processing Machines
  • Personal Computer (including programs such as spreadsheets, word processors, and data bases.)
  • Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
  • Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.
  • Must participate in the following subject training and pass required certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in plastic converting processes and testing is preferred.
  • An associate degree in Chemical Technology (Laboratory) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate, maintain and operation of Instruments and equipment.
  • Analyze Samples, final product and raw materials.
  • Pilot plant operations and polymerization reactions.
  • Complete paperwork as required.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instruments.
  • Attend project meetings and contribute to the projects discussed.
  • Review and evaluate data and communicate all findings to other departments, management or engineers.
  • Maintain Lab logbooks.
  • Complete QC Analysis for Process.
  • Attend Safety and Departmental Training
  • Adhere/Implement/educate/train and adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, Federal and State laws, regulatory and company requirements
  • Comply with NTG (Nothing Touching the Ground) requirements. Including daily audits.
  • Be active in Operation Clean Sweep, and ensure employees are aware of and accountablefor pellet loss prevention, containment, cleanup and disposal.
  • Operate a vehicle both in plant and on public roadways
  • Work outside normal shift hours as needed.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
