Laboratory Technicians are also accountable for working safely, independently, and efficiently while always seeking to implement methods which reduce costs, improve quality, and reduce the potential for injury. You will be accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers, promoting a safe work environment, and carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily verifications standards on equipment and instrumentation. Log results on control chart. Troubleshoot/take action based on guideline.
  • Perform samples run and preparation/blending
  • Perform tests according to the test methods and recheck according to the laboratory SOP
  • Evaluate and interpret results for accuracy in support of production
  • Record results in LIMS
  • Maintain equipment and instrumentation by performing minor maintenance
  • Receive, log, and label all incoming chemicals in the laboratory
  • Wash and dry all laboratory glassware. Transfer full broken glass container to the holding area.
  • Dispose of waste solvents
  • Prepare hazardous waste drum for transfer and issue transfer ticket
  • Prepare weekly and monthly American Analytical Environmental samples
  • Store and discard all samples
  • Report monthly on solvent inventory and every two weeks on supply inventory
  • Safely operate fork truck for loading, moving, and dumping
  • Deliver completed worksheet to the administration building
  • Replace glass cylinders as needed
  • Improve housekeeping continuously in his/her work areas (equipment, counters, floors, etc.)
  • Issue Safe Work permit as needed
  • Participate in monthly safety lab inspection
  • Participate in internal/external quality audits
