External applicants must be eligible to work in the US. Your Role Laboratory Technician I performs entry level manufacturing functions requiring basic-level production lab skills. Duties include:

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 3-5+ years laboratory experience
  • Associates degree in any discipline with 6 months of laboratory experience
  • Reaching: extending arm(s) to touch or grasp something.
  • Auditory: perceiving sounds at typical range, understand the speech of another person.
  • Speaking: Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Sitting (constant): be in a position in which one’s weight is supported by the buttocks and one’s back is upright.
  • Standing (constant): maintain an upright position, supported by one’s feet.
  • Lifting: pick up objects and move to a different position.
  • Bending: incline body downward by bending spine at the waist and/or bending legs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: exert force on something to move it away from or toward oneself
  • Near and far vision, depth perception, and color recognition; ability to exert up to 30 pounds; climb using hands and feet; and perform tasks involving manual dexterity such as gripping, holding, turning, and manipulating objects.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned production tasks including batch creation, route determination, synthesis, cleavage/deprotection, purification, labeling, kitting, and quantification, gaining competency in at least 3 processes within 6 months.
  • Operate various synthesizer platforms to synthesize oligonucleotides, including modifications, injections, and conjugations as required.
  • Cleave and deprotect products under appropriate conditions, purify materials using multiple methods and equipment, and submit fractions for quality control; select material for combination or shipment
  • Prepare reagents, stock raw materials and supplies, label and cap containers, and perform custom formatting or kitting as needed.
  • Conduct manual and automated liquid handling tasks such as sampling, product transfer, dilution, and aliquoting.
  • Accurately use the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for each manufacturing step and maintain complete quality assurance records.
  • Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, properly dispose of hazardous materials, perform routine equipment checks and cleaning, and inspect products for adherence to quality and customer specifications
  • Effectively communicate with leadership, peers, and cross-functional teams, provide clear updates, report issues promptly, and coordinate production needs with support departments such as Logistics, Quality, and Maintenance.
