Duties/Responsibilities Manage and supervise QA Lab Technicians on shift, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Ensure all laboratory personnel are properly trained on procedures, equipment, and safety protocols. Support investigations of quality issues in production and customer complaints, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. Oversee preparation of Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for customers and internal use. Ensure non-conforming products are identified, documented, and addressed in accordance with company policy. Coordinate quality communication triggers to meet operational and business needs. Support research and development activities to facilitate product innovation and business growth. Develop special test protocols or methods as needed to meet production or technical requirements. Review and manage product specifications, test protocols, and testing frequencies to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and work areas to ensure readiness and compliance with quality standards.

Requirements

Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Critical investigative thinking and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and ability to work with laboratory information systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively at all levels.
Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and quality control standards.
College experience preferred; degree in a technical or scientific field is a plus.
5–10 years of experience in a technical laboratory role, preferably in flexible packaging.
Prior supervisory experience in a lab environment strongly preferred.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking within laboratory and production areas.
Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
Visual acuity to read test results, documentation, and computer screens.
May require occasional work in production areas with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and odors.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, lab coat, and gloves, for extended periods.
