About The Position

The Laboratory Supervisor reports to the FSQ Director and is responsible for the company’s microbiological and chemistry laboratory, electronic data system, compliance to all relevant accredidations, and other duties as assigned. Must bring experience with laboratory systems, regulation, and customer requirements. Maintains a work station and also functions throughout the company’s several operating plants.

  • Experience with laboratory systems.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique.
  • Professional communication skills are essential.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Proficient computer skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication at all personnel levels.
  • Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees compliance for the microbiological and chemistry laboratory. Ensures all rules, regulations, and expectations for the lab are understood and followed.
  • Manages accreditation audit process, including all documentation.
  • Supervises all lab personnel.
  • Ensures all customer requirements are met in terms of testing and reporting.
  • Submits weekly reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates and organizes all regulatory sampling.
  • Manages the test and hold process for products undergoing testing.
  • Tracks all testing results in a spreadsheet or other approved documentation system.
  • Calibrates, maintains, and validates all lab equipment.
  • Maintains a budget.
  • Orders supplies and coordinates with vendors.
  • Approves invoices.
  • Establishes trending for the lab data and communicates these trends to the management staff.
  • Meets regularly with FSQ Director to review activities and results.
  • Conducts ongoing training with employees.
  • Responds to requests from plants and FSQ in a timely and quality manner.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with the production workers, plant leaders, and outside partners.
  • Takes an active approach to work safe and meet safety goals established by the company.
