About The Position

Qualified biology instructors are needed to fill a number of lecture and laboratory positions within the Lab Sciences Department to begin January of 2022. Duties may include teaching lecture/laboratory assignments in any of the following courses: Human Biology, Anatomy and Physiology 1, and/or Anatomy and Physiology 2. We are looking specifically for instructors to teach during traditional daytime hours, although there may be opportunities to include evening and Saturday sessions as well. This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur. The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.

Requirements

  • Instructors teaching in the department should have a master's degree in biology, with specific anatomy and physiology, or related professional experience.
  • In extraordinary cases, a bachelor's degree may be sufficient to fill a vacancy.
  • Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
