All internship positions are designed to give college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. This is a paid internship offering full-time hours during the summer months. All interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Please note that no relocation assistance or sponsorship is provided for the internship program at this time. Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Biochemistry or Molecular Biology Laboratory Intern to join our team. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to apply core biochemistry principles in a fast-paced laboratory environment, supporting high-throughput screening and protein purification efforts. The successful candidate will work under minimal supervision, contributing to data collection, analysis, and interpretation while strictly adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the internship.
  • Junior or Senior preferred but will consider sophomore applicants with extensive experience.
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn new procedures and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness and ability to spend 75% of the workday in a laboratory environment and 25% at a desk.
  • Must have taken laboratory courses covering affinity column chromatography and SDS-PAGE preparation and analysis.
  • Buffer preparation knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Protein purification knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Affinity chromatography column packing and elution.
  • Support high throughput screenings efforts.
  • Apply analytical and biochemistry principles.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and assays under minimal supervision.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Follow all EHS and laboratory safety protocols, proactively identifying chemical and physical hazards.
