At NorthBay Health, The Point of Care Coordinator reports directly to the Laboratory Director and the Medical Director or designee. This individual maintains a current knowledge of federal and state laboratory laws and regulations. S/he develops, participates in and oversees the Quality Management activities required by the clinical laboratories at NorthBay MedicalCenter and VacaValley Hospital. These activities include performance improvement, safety, and accreditation readiness. The required quality activities include responsibility for laboratory and point of care procedures, record retention and documentation in order to meet the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. This position will also ensure the laboratory is following hospital safety rules and regulations by overseeing the laboratory safety program and as a liaison to the hospital safety program. This individual must be fiscally responsible, be able to take on new responsibilities as needed, be able to accept accountability and operate effectively under pressure, display confidence and integrity and maintain a sense of humor. Must be able to use critical thinking skills, make independent judgment based on knowledge of laboratory medicine and disease processes while also working as an effective member of a team. Compensation Structure NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan.
