About The Position

Supports the Point of Care program by: Performing basic Quality Control for waived testing; resolving patient result errors in RALS and PWeb middleware within guidelines. Generating reports in Sunquest; contributing significantly in the development of training modules in Healthstream CHRIS or other program; maintaining training and competency databases and generating reports. Notifying departments of staff due for recertification and tracking responses; maintaining equipment databases and assisting in the efficient resolution of instrument issues. Maintaining par levels of reagents and supplies in the patient care areas and POC department and generating usage reports and purchase orders. Assisting in monthly audits of the POC program; training users of waived testing and conducting recertifications; and assisting in compiling and reporting of department Quality Assurance reports. Performs basic clerical functions such as filing, scanning and general office duties.

Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is highly recommended
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve problems is strongly desired
  • Must have strong customer service and communication skills and be able to work effectively with many levels of health care worker and administration, including nurses and physicians in groups and one to one

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with database programs is desirable.
  • Previously training experience desirable.
