We’re seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee our petroleum testing laboratory in Broussard, LA. In this role, you will direct laboratory operations, lead and develop a skilled technical team, and ensure the delivery of accurate, defensible data that supports critical decisions across oil and energy industries. You will manage people, processes, and resources while setting expectations for quality, safety, and performance. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for laboratory execution, continuous improvement, and client support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and manage performance to achieve results
  • Experience leading analytical or testing laboratory operations
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC programs and regulatory standards, including EPA, ASTM, API, and Standard Methods
  • Proficiency with LIMS and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily laboratory operations to ensure quality, safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage, train, and develop laboratory staff while fostering technical excellence and performance
  • Oversee quality systems, data integrity, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Manage laboratory resources, including staffing, equipment, and budgets, to support productivity
  • Review and approve analytical data, reports, and documentation
  • Partner with Quality, Operations, and Project Management to meet client and turnaround expectations
  • Lead audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives, including new technologies and process enhancements
  • Monitor performance metrics such as turnaround time, data quality, and operational costs
  • Support business development through technical expertise and laboratory capability input
  • Perform other duties as assigned
