About The Position

Position Purpose: Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in a certified Environmental Laboratory that tests drinking water and wastewater Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Performs routine tasks in Laboratory, such as monitoring of the Laboratory’s Deionized Water unit, washing and sterilizing tubes, plates, dishes, etc., used in Laboratory examinations of water samples. May assist in research or special projects in a variety of areas to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives. May assist with Laboratory analysis. Prepares media for bacterial examination of water. Operates the Laboratory’s steam autoclave. Updates Safety Data Sheet central file. Work Environment: Environments vary by internship function. This position is mostly in the Laboratory, with some exposure to office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Working towards a four year degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Related Major and should be in Senior status in their education.
• 3.0 Cumulative G.P.A required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
