A Day in the Life In this on-site role supporting our Trace Analytics operation, your morning starts with verifying inbound deliveries against manifests and invoices, documenting weights, charges, and any discrepancies. You’ll prepare lab testing kits and materials for shipment with rigorous quality checks, generate documentation (work orders, bills of lading, shipping orders), and arrange transportation. Throughout the day you’ll circulate materials to the right departments, operate material handling devices, collaborate with buyers, schedulers, and the shipping team for inventory accuracy, and communicate improvement ideas to the shipping lead and supervisor. You’ll also cross-train to assist teammates where needed and apply your hand tool know-how to pack, seal, label, and prepare outbound goods for prompt, accurate delivery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
  • 1+ year of shipping experience.
  • 1+ year in assembling or material handling.
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn and grow.
  • Comfortable with computers, data entry, and keyboarding.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ year of ERP system experience.
  • Ability to stand for most of the shift (except during breaks).

Responsibilities

  • Verify contents of incoming and outgoing shipments against records (manifests, invoices, orders) and document findings.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
  • Capture shipment data for reporting and recordkeeping (weights, charges, space use, damage/discrepancies).
  • Select appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Route materials to internal departments using material handling devices (hand trucks, conveyors, sorting bins).
  • Pack, seal, label, and affix postage; prepare materials using hand and power tools and a postage meter.
  • Partner with buyers, schedulers, and the shipping team to maintain inventory accuracy and timely transactions.
  • Cross-train and assist in adjacent areas; escalate issues and propose solutions to the shipping lead and supervisor.
  • Use hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, nail guns, pneumatic crimpers, hoists, and banding equipment; perform other duties as assigned.
