About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Director to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for a high-volume acute care laboratory environment. This role oversees all laboratory and phlebotomy operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and efficient service delivery across multiple diagnostic disciplines. Requirements
- Current State Medical Technologist License
- ASCP Certification (required)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related biological, chemical, or physical science
- Recent acute care laboratory leadership experience at the supervisor or manager level
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in a hospital-based laboratory setting

- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience overseeing large, multi-disciplinary laboratory departments
- Prior responsibility for budgeting, staffing optimization, and regulatory readiness
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for laboratory and phlebotomy services
- Direct blood bank, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology operations
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and state regulatory requirements
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing models, and productivity metrics
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate laboratory leadership and technical staff (approximately 75 FTEs)
- Implement quality assurance, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives
- Collaborate with medical staff, nursing leadership, and executive teams to support clinical excellence
- Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation surveys
