Overview 2nd Shift, 12:00pm-8:30pm, every other weekeend and holiday The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the operation, organization of the Central Collection department and for carrying out the philosophy and objectives established by the Board of Directors and the Management Team. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication skills including reading, writing & speaking fluent english
  • Adaptability, customer/patient focused
  • Interpersonal skills and Self-development.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy course, Medical Assistant, Associate of Arts, preferred.
  • Experience with phlebotomy, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Phlebotomy Performs venous, arterial and capillary blood collection, processing and delivery of specimens to departments within Trinity Laboratory
  • Consistently demonstrates attention to detail in following protocol for patient, sample and identification and labeling.
  • Educates others and maintains knowledge of departmental functions, policies and procedures including AIDET and Focus value.
  • Assists with the training new employees, being helpful supportive in the teaching of new associates.
  • Complies with procedures and services, including QA guidelines, in consultation with the assigned laboratory supervisor.
  • Performs technical procedures within specified turnaround time for assigned area.
  • Is responsible for executing and monitoring technical practices of the department in order to meet necessary standards, recommendations and requirements of voluntary and government agencies (ie. CAP, JCAHO)
