About The Position

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to help support our Labor & Delivery Unit. The Clinical Coordinator oversees staff education and training while supporting the Nurse Manager with scheduling, operations, and initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction. This role promotes safe, compassionate nursing care in accordance with current standards and fosters shared decision-making and professional autonomy within the unit. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, addressing unit issues, assisting with on-call coverage, and ensuring clinical competencies meet established standards. The coordinator also serves as a clinical educator, providing training based on staff needs and supporting evidence-based practice and policy development. This role includes a strong focus on perioperative operations within Labor and Delivery, ensuring safe, efficient, evidence-based care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. The coordinator collaborates with L&D staff, anesthesia, and surgical services to optimize workflows and enhance patient experience. The Clinical Coordinator is accountable for maintaining a positive clinical environment, supporting nursing practice, and contributing to unit operations, standards of care, and goal achievement in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • Current WV RV license or the ability to obtain said license before hire required
  • AHA BLS required
  • ACLS required.
  • NRP required.
  • One year of position-related experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree from an accredited Nursing program preferred
  • Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Staff education and competency validation (including NRP and fetal monitoring)
  • Promoting quality improvement initiatives and integration of evidence-based practice
  • Scheduling, staffing, payroll, and ANSOS updates
  • Performance improvement planning and support of employee evaluations
  • Policy review and alignment with current standards and best practices
  • Assisting as a staff nurse when needed while ensuring patient-centered care
