We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Labor Consultant in Peoria, IL. Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Labor Consultant to join the Global Service Rebuilds team. You will have the responsibility to lead Labor Time Study projects within Dealerships to capture or validate actual repair times required to perform repair, maintain existing labor time data, and leverage data analytics for all machines and engines. You will collaborate with internal and external customers such as Product Groups and Industry teams, Global Warranty, Technical Information Solutions and Rebuilds and Service Option teams. Additional Info: This role is located in Peoria, IL and does not offer relocation This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 25% domestic and international travel

Requirements

  • Consulting: Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical field degree though other qualifications or experience are equally valued (5+ years of progressively responsible work experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong knowledge of Cat machines and engines, comprising of systems such as powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, cooling, fuel, braking, steering etc.
  • 5+ years of experience servicing equipment
  • 5+ years of Product Support or Dealer Experience
  • Understands the Caterpillar machine and engine parts product structure.
  • Good understanding of Reuse & Salvage Guidelines.
  • Experience leveraging Service Magazine Articles, Special Instructions, PIPs, PSP
  • Experience with dealer service data, SMCS codes, and standard jobs
  • Experience with reading and interpreting Caterpillar engineering prints
  • Experience with SIS, RWA, EDS, NPR, HVC
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Upgrades & Retrofits and how these are marketed with Cat Certified Rebuilds
  • Knowledge of Global Warranty and Cat Insurance Services products supporting Cat Certified Rebuilds

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain service labor time strategy for machines and engines
  • Collaborate with Product Groups on current and future NPI labor needs
  • Coordinate identified machines or engines with dealers to conduct a labor time study within the dealership utilizing dealer technicians for specific repairs or rebuilds
  • Format end results of labor time studies for consumption into Caterpillar Labor Estimates dashboard
  • Manage and follow corporate policies pertaining to business travel
  • Own the ServiceNow process for resolving dealer and internal customer feedback or concerns
  • Leverage data analytics to expand coverage for supporting Cat Labor Estimates
