Payrate $18.10-$19.40 Position Summary Operate labeler, cap coder, and bar code reader in a safe, efficient manner ensuring product being manufactured adheres to our quality specification and customer expectations. Responsible for setting up and adjusting equipment and lines from the pasteurizer to the drop pack as needed as well as accurately completing necessary documentation.

  • Internal GMP/HACCP/BRC Training
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Complete work instruction/qualification sheet in allotted time frame

Responsibilities

  • Ensure machine is set up correctly for product being run; this will include assembling the machine, changing parts, cross slide set up, and adjusting rails as needed
  • Record accurate log data and downtime information; complete necessary paperwork
  • Ensure labels are accurate and are correct for product scheduled to run
  • Load and adjust label basket and label basket fingers
  • Operate glue pump; adjust speed and glue film thickness and pattern; monitor level and temperature
  • Monitor proper label application; ensure label is centered and meets specs
  • Inspect for broken jars, low fill weights, loose tops
  • Ensure cap coder and bar code reader are operating correctly
  • Read message display; troubleshoot and correct problems as needed
  • Unwind and rewind PLS labels; adjust tension
  • Remove any broken glass IMMEDIATELY; keep work area clean
  • Adjust line speed, vertical and horizontal alignments (spacers), gripper compression, wipedown station, and carriage travel and penetration
  • Disassemble and clean entire machine
  • Lubricate machine parts
  • Set up pressure sensitive applicators
  • Provide machine maintenance when applicable
  • Other duties as assigned
