About The Position

The Lab Technician (Foam Manufacturing) is responsible for supporting laboratory operations within a foam manufacturing environment by performing material testing, quality control analyses, and product evaluations in accordance with established procedures. This role ensures that foam products meet required specifications for performance, safety, and consistency. Key responsibilities include preparing and testing foam samples, measuring physical and chemical properties (such as density, compression set, PPI), recording and analyzing data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and supporting continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Must have at least 2 years of lab testing experience.
Direct experience within a manufacturing facility under an ISO, AS, IATF management systems with documented training in one or more areas as Manager, Lead, Technician, Inspector and/or Auditor.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have excellent computer skills with all Microsoft applications
Must be detail oriented.
Must be able to work independently and effectively manage time.

Nice To Haves

A.S. degree preferred.
ASQ certification as CQ1 or CQT is desirable.
SAP experience is preferred.
Have knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO17025 requirements desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform daily foam tests for the lab.
Must be able to cut detailed test samples, perform data entry, issue certification of compliance to customers.
Participates in corrective action teams.
Must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends.
Effectively communicate with plant associates and Managers.
Must be able to create and update JHA's, and SOP's.
Follow all safety and housekeeping guidelines.
Other tasks as assigned by Supervision.
