About The Position

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for all aspects of quality testing of material at the assigned work-site. Material may include fly ash, bottom ash, gypsum, scrubber, and/or other material as required by site management. This role also involves quality testing for synthetic materials laboratory.

  • Excellent prioritizing, planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with different types of people at all levels of the organization
  • Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of related software
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field
  • Awareness of EEO issues related to the facility
  • May be required to work shifts to support operational needs; some weekends and holidays, and perform some travel

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Perform all quality testing of materials by approved test methods (including fly ash, bottom ash, gypsum, scrubber, and/or other material, as well as wastewater treatment)
  • Maintain all quality testing equipment, schedule calibration, and order testing supplies as needed
  • Responsible for laboratory housekeeping
  • Record data and results in a specified format with accuracy
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Interpret testing data and share results and observations as directed by management, including for plant operators regarding continuous improvement
  • Ensure regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Prepare quality reports for test data
  • Complete chemical inventory weekly and report purchase orders to the Laboratory Supervisor as needed for testing
