About The Position

Based in Haltom City, TX, the Lab Technician will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Quality Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Lab Technician. Depending on your skills and experience, this role may be filled at one of the following levels: Level C: Entry Level: 0 to 24 months in lab or related positions. You will be expected to learn and grow in your role, with guidance from senior team members. Less than two years in a laboratory or related position. Basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatments, inspection, and related topics – Desirable. Level B: Mid-Level: 2 to 5 years of experience in lab or related positions. You should have a proven track record in lab or related positions, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Must have proficient knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, inspection, and related subjects. Must be able to use RC hardness tester and other testing equipment as required. Level A: Senior-Level: More than 5 years of experience in lab or related positions. You will lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and make strategic contributions to the department. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Must have advanced knowledge of metallurgy, heat treating, inspection, and related subjects. Must be able to use RC hardness tester and other testing equipment as required.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires computer experience and a good understanding of basic math.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatments, inspection, and related topics – Desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Review paperwork to verify information and testing to be done.
  • Prepares parts and equipment for testing procedures.
  • Conducts testing as required, reporting any non-conformance to the manager.
  • Accurately completes required paperwork and follows through as required.
  • Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other tasks as designated by the position.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
