About The Position

Job Description: Laboratory Technicians in the Power Systems Division play a pivotal role in the development and enhancement of cutting-edge welding, compressed air, hydraulic and auxiliary power for the construction and fabrication industries and work truck mounted all in one solutions. As a key member of the engineering team, you’ll be responsible for crucial fabrication, troubleshooting, and testing operations for the next generations of our EnPak, HDI, Bobcat, Trailblazer, and Big Blue engine driven families. Essential Functions: Duties include, but are not limited to: Contribute to a multidisciplinary team of Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Welding engineers by performing engineering tests including V-A curves, heat tests, reliability qualification, third-party certifications, transportation, and environmental protection testing. Work closely with the product certification manager to create and revise Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification reports, including CSA, CE, CCC, ETL, NOM, etc. Assist with diagnostics, root cause analysis, and repair of issues arising in prototype, production, and field return units. Manage your time effectively in coordination with engineering teams and other technicians. Foster a safety-focused culture within the laboratory environment. Minimum Qualifications: Must have a positive, growth-focused mindset and excellent interpersonal skills. 2-year technical degree in electronics, electro-mechanical or related field. Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams is required and the ability to repair circuit boards to the component level is preferred. Proficient mechanic skills, comfortable working with power tools, and experience working safely with electrically powered prototypes (400Vac and 500Vdc) Candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude, highly motivated and excellent interpersonal skills who works well in a business unit team environment with minimum supervision. Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to write accurate and concise reports is required. Limited travel may be required. ITW is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements
