About The Position

Responsible for completing work assignments with minimal supervision, in support of production, through the use of all material testing equipment.

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least one year training or education in areas related to material testing.
• Must demonstrate proficient performance of Lab Technician B and C essential duties.
• Must be able to lift 50 lb. parts and other items from floor to waist on an occasional basis while protecting lifted items from damage.
• Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching.
• Must be able to walk within and between areas constantly and climb stairs occasionally.
• Must be able to understand and reliably carry out extensive and detailed process instructions.
• Must be able to understand and carry out verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, despite periodic interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of materials testing processes including operation of equipment and execution of standard procedures with minimal supervision.
• Equipment includes lathes, mills, grinders, lab microscopes, microhardness testers, surface hardness testers, tensile testing, etc.
• Document results of testing for delivery to customers.
• Maintain good working order of equipment in compliance with all equipment manufacturer and safety requirements.
• Maintain clean equipment and work areas.
• Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
