The Senior Lab Technician leads advanced testing for designated product lines, partners closely with engineering teams on critical projects, and provides guidance to resolve complex technical issues. Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years in optical fiber testing role.
- Familiarity with standards, T568, environmental test chambers, and test parameters.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Fusion Splicers, hand tools (crimpers, jacket strippers, jacket ring cutters, fiber cleavers, connector ovens, polishing machines, tensile and compression testers, Interferometers, environmental test chambers and testing gear, and OTDR testing a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and build test fixtures for standard and specialized testing.
- Mentor and guide lab technicians, ensuring consistent use of standardized methods and industry best practices in product development.
- Develop, standardize, and document lab test methods.
- Create and enhance automated data-collection systems to support accurate, efficient test reporting; maintain and improve integrated test platforms and measurement tools.
- Define test requirements, select appropriate methods, and coordinate all aspects of test setup, including fabrication, modification, and equipment integration.
- Independently execute complex system tests, analyze results, and clearly document findings; contribute to test data reviews and technical discussions.
