About The Position

Under limited supervision, responsible for fabrication and repair of dental/fixed removable prostheses, filling casts, vacuum forming or laminating, establishing initial trims and other functions. May lead or mentor lower level team members.

Requirements

• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of all safety procedures and guidelines that pertain to a dental laboratory.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality.
• High school Diploma or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

• Eligible for certification as a Certified Dental Technician by the National Board of Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or prescriptions, examines models and impressions to determine the design of dental products to be constructed.
• Fabricates, alters, and repairs dental devices such as dentures, crowns, bridges, inlays, and appliances for straightening teeth.
• Provides guidance, instruction, and feedback when appropriate to undergraduate, graduate students, and faculty members.
• Assists in the development of teaching aids for pre/post-doctoral students.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
