A Lab Tech I will perform procedures under the direction of a trained manager with frequent supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
  • Laboratory experience may allow advancement to Tech II

Nice To Haves

  • Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required as this is an entry-level position
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples (extractions) for analysis and/or shipment
  • Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Prepare reagents for lab use
  • Provide preparation and support work for routinely conducted assays on client samples, including media preparation and secondary testing
  • Clean laboratory glassware
  • Maintain clean laboratory areas
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and perform method(s) efficiently
  • Routinely meet QA/QC requirements
  • Assist Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and instrumentation parts
  • Comply with the MSL Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with the MSL Health and Safety Plan
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management
