We’re seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our petroleum testing laboratory team in Coppell, TX. In this role, you’ll perform ASTM and API analytical testing on a wide range of hydrocarbon samples, including crude oil, gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and lubricants. You will operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, ensure data accuracy within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and contribute to a high-throughput laboratory environment where quality, safety, and turnaround time are critical.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific field required; equivalent hands-on laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Prior hands-on analytical laboratory experience, preferably within petroleum, fuels, lubricants, or oil & gas testing environments
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation and analytical testing on petroleum products in accordance with ASTM, API, and internal SOPs
  • Conduct physical and chemical analyses including (but not limited to) viscosity, flash point, sulfur content, distillation, density/API gravity, and elemental analysis
  • Perform instrument calibration, verification, and routine maintenance to ensure data integrity
  • Analyze and interpret results, identifying trends and out-of-spec conditions and escalating as needed
  • Record, review, and validate data in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes, including adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), audits, and corrective actions
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including handling of hazardous, flammable, and pressurized materials
  • Maintain laboratory organization, sample tracking, and inventory management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
