This position also is responsible for the safe shipping of hazardous materials and the safe keeping and disposal of hazardous waste.

Requirements

  • Have a basic understanding or be willing and able to learn hazardous waste handling, DOT and IATA shipping, and/or warehousing and supply chain.
  • Must have very good communications skill and have a good customer service focus.
  • Must be extremely organized and be willing to learn new programs
  • Associates degree with 1 to 3 years' experience with hazardous waste, DOT and IATA shipping, and/or warehouse and supply chain preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented environment focused on Customer Service.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Coordinate and maintain effective communications with the different business lines with an understanding of their specific needs from a site support perspective.
  • Accountability for site shipping and receiving · Routine moving of materials throughout the site
  • Maintain an inventory of chemicals, lab supplies and facility maintenance items allowing uninterrupted workflows in support of site R&D projects.
  • Safely package and ship chemicals both domestically and international. Understand or be willing to learn the Department of Transportation and International Air Transport Association regulations.
  • Help coordinate waste disposal activities that are required to maintain our site operations. This requires an understanding and knowledge of the RCRA Hazardous Waste Regulations.
