About The Position

The Jomaa Lab at the University of Virginia invites applications for a full-time Lab Specialist or Technician to support projects focused on understanding protein biogenesis at the molecular level. Our lab uses a combination of biochemistry, mammalian and yeast cell systems, and advanced structural biology techniques such as cryo-EM and cryo-ET. The successful candidate will assist in: • Maintaining and manipulating mammalian (e.g., HEK293) and yeast cultures • Performing CRISPR-based knockouts/knock-ins • Preparing samples for cryo-EM/cryo-ET workflows • Routine molecular biology and protein biochemistry assays • General lab organization and maintenance of research infrastructure This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering graduate studies or long-term research careers in molecular biology and structural biology.
