The Fairfax Lab in the Division of Microbiology & Immunology is seeking a team-oriented Research Technician (Lab Specialist) with interest in Immunology, Molecular Biology, and mouse models related to infectious disease and vaccination. Our laboratory offers a strong collaborative environment where you will conduct clinically-relevant research using a variety of molecular, biochemical, and cell-based technologies to understand how the immune system recognizes and responds to pathogens, how infection alters the host response to diet induced metabolic disease, how maternal infections immunizations alter offspring immune development and how obtained information can be used to develop novel therapeutic strategies. Interested candidates will assist the PI by supporting efficient laboratory operations, such as providing technical support for ongoing laboratory projects, including data collection and analysis, maintaining the mouse colony, performing minor animal surgery and assisting with general lab duties such as purchasing and equipment maintenance.
