About The Position

McWilliams Forge Company, in Rockaway, NJ, is a well-established leader in the manufacture of precision forged products for the aerospace industry. We are seeking a Lab Intern for our metallurgy and lab department . We are looking for a candidate who has obtained or is currently pursuing a degree in engineering or related fields. A hard, driven worker who is eager to learn with the ability to follow instruction. This is an internship role with direct supervision.

Requirements

• Candidate who has obtained or is currently pursuing a degree in engineering or related fields.
• A hard, driven worker who is eager to learn with the ability to follow instruction.
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Receive Pos in Visual per the Inbound report lab supervisor provides every morning.
• Maintain the Retention database, this includes working with process engineer and sometimes our customer to document the retention information per part.
• Scrap material and document what is being scrapped, weight and material.
• Train to perform full labs.
• Scanning of optical reports in our database for archiving.
• Help with 6S initiatives.
