As the leader of the Information Display and Simulation group in the Vehicle Safety, Engineering, and Defense Research Lab, you will manage Human Machine Interaction (HMI) Research scientists in the Information Displays & Simulation group, overseeing the planning and execution of research in various areas within the HMI domain. Your immediate task will be to lead and manage innovation in several content domain areas: (1) human performance testing and modeling using immersive technologies, Driving Simulators, Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR), (2) Design and evaluation of User Experience in autonomous vehicles and ADAS, (3) Measurement of Human Physiological Responses using both Subjective and Objective Methods focused on stress, cognitive load, trust and other critical factors. As the leader of the group, you will demonstrate your deep knowledge of Human Factors, Statistics, Cognitive Psychology, Biometrics, Simulation and Usability Testing/Engineering to design for quantifiably better human performance in GM’s future vehicles. You will publish your research findings in peer-reviewed conferences and journals to enhance the reputation of General Motors. You will also network effectively with universities, research institutes, startup companies, federal agencies, and other advanced technology laboratories to create a leverageable partnership network that can be used to leverage investments and augment the GM skills base.
