We are seeking a Lab Coordinator for our First Quality Tissue facility located in Anderson SC This position will be responsible for providing technical support to optimize chemical cost and effectiveness in Paper Machine operations. Also providing testing capability to support advanced troubleshooting efforts and to maintain library of process data for longer period baselines.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and be a self-starter with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Focus on getting results in a timely manner.
  • Hands on analytical testing skills required.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in applications such as Excel.
  • BS in Chemistry, Engineering, or Paper Science

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the biocide program for the Paper machine operations via regular testing, maintenance, and strategic operations of the equipment to ensure continuously improving biocide effectiveness; this includes Vendor management as required to support these assets.
  • Regular biocide program reporting for control effectiveness and provide process recommendations to drive continuous, proactive improvement
  • Assure vendors managed are compliant with FQ IP access protocols
  • Collaborate with PD Chemical Manager for strategic & continuous improvement of these systems
  • Primary technical resource for assuring paper laboratory testing methods, equipment validation and results meet FQ standards.
  • Audit labs and technicians for compliance to standards in testing, validation and maintenance of respective equipment.
  • Collaborate w Paper leadership to ensure training and accountabilities are in place to support these standards
  • Provide technical support when needed for advance troubleshooting
  • Monitor chemical consumption in PM processes and validate versus BOM and advise when shifts occur and/or BOM updates are required.
  • Proactively communicate with asset Process Engineer and Planning/Procurement team to maintain BOMs.
  • Support special testing capabilities, in collaboration with Product Development and Vendor resources towards advanced support of PM operations
  • Observes all safety rules and always uses the proper safety equipment.
  • Establish and maintain systems to assure the PM labs are capable of self-reliance for restocking of materials.
  • Establish systems and audit for system health the capability of PM labs for regular verification and calibration if testing equipment.
