The Lab Assistant performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and established standards. They also perform venipunctures at applicable entities, and obtain/prepare blood specimens following Piedmont policies and procedures. Additionally, the Lab Assistant assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
No experience required

Nice To Haves

1 year of experience as a phlebotomist
Experience in performing EKGs
Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting
CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency

Responsibilities

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable
Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures
Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks
