About The Position

Our state-of-the-art laboratory is built for efficiency and growth. We feature advanced automation in hematology and chemistry, expanded microbiology facilities that meet CDC isolation standards, and an enhanced transfusion service with increased blood storage and future automated instrumentation. In this role, you will receive and process laboratory specimens promptly and accurately according to departmental and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Typing and Computer skills in a Windows environment
• Excellent organization skills, with passion for working in a medical laboratory setting.
• High level of customer service.

Nice To Haves

• AA degree or 24 college units in laboratory science courses.
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT 1 or CPT 2).

Responsibilities

• receive and process laboratory specimens promptly and accurately according to departmental and regulatory guidelines
• assessing specimen adequacy
• loading analyzers
• preparing reagents under the supervision of a Medical Technologist
• performing accurate data entry for test orders and patient information
• maintain proper patient identification throughout all processes
• manage inventory and supplies
• support phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
• Adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards is essential.
