About The Position

Shared Services: Animal Care Facility- (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Job Summary: The Lab Animal Technician performs animal husbandry and care, recordkeeping, training other employees and staff, equipment maintenance and cleaning, and various veterinary care procedures as assigned. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience with animal care and use required.
• Knowledge of USDA and NIH regulations, gestation period of laboratory animals.
• Read and write legibly
• Speak in English with professional quality
• Good interpersonal skills

• Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
• Organize and prioritize workload
• Manage multiple assignments effectively

• Discern temperature variances through touch
• Completion of the Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) examination administered by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) within one year of employment required.
• Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred.
