Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and less than 1 year of relevant experience required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
- Performs activities associated with care and propagation of any animal colony involving one or more species.
- Provides complete husbandry care of laboratory animals.
- Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met.
- Assists with tasks such as administering drugs, clipping, and weighing by holding animals.
- Provides complete husbandry care of one or more species of laboratory animals.
- Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met.
- Assists by holding animals for such tasks as administering drugs, clipping, weighing, etc.
- Observes animals, reports instances of abnormal behavior, vermin infestations, temperature changes, and other conditions affecting the well-being of animals assigned.
- Inventories food and bedding materials.
- Assists in maintaining related records and preparing periodic reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
