Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and less than 1 year of relevant experience required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

Performs activities associated with care and propagation of any animal colony involving one or more species.
Provides complete husbandry care of laboratory animals.
Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met.
Assists with tasks such as administering drugs, clipping, and weighing by holding animals.
Provides complete husbandry care of one or more species of laboratory animals.
Ensures all standards and conditions, pertinent to proper health care and maintenance of animals assigned, are met.
Assists by holding animals for such tasks as administering drugs, clipping, weighing, etc.
Observes animals, reports instances of abnormal behavior, vermin infestations, temperature changes, and other conditions affecting the well-being of animals assigned.
Inventories food and bedding materials.
Assists in maintaining related records and preparing periodic reports.
Other duties as assigned.
