Division of Hematology & Oncology is seeking a Lab and Research Tech 2. This position will assist on a project that requires the extensive use of human cells in tissue culture and a significant portion of the applicant's time will be spent in the propagation, construction and maintenance of genetically engineered cell lines. Specifically, the purpose of this position is to plan and conduct research experiments as well as analyze results focusing on the construction, identification and characterization of human cell lines that have been genetically modified to contain altered levels of HMEJ activity. Additional techniques likely needed will DNA sequencing analysis, Western blotting and a bevy of molecular assays to assess the allelic status of human cells. Included in this category of conducting experiments is the use of computer software for the analysis and presenting of data generated during individual experiments.
