About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Performs semi-technical laboratory and research procedures under the general supervision of senior laboratory personnel. Research in Bettini Lab is focused on T cell mediated autoimmune diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes). The Lab Aide will assist in maintaining the laboratory under the guidance and supervision of the Principle Investigator, as well as assisting with basic research experiments including molecular biology, tissue culture and tissue processing. A major component of this position will include maintenance, breeding, and genotyping of experimental mice. The ideal applicant should be self-motivated and have good record keeping and time management skills. Nice To Haves

• A general knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment and terminology; the ability to operate and care for laboratory equipment; and a knowledge of appropriate specimen handling techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the physical environment of the lab.
• Mouse husbandry which includes maintenance, breeding, and genotyping of mouse colony.
• Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Enters data into research database.
• Assists in laboratory research experiments.
• Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
