Opportunity CDF's Los Angeles office has an opportunity for attorneys with at least 3+ years of experience in employment defense litigation to join a tight-knit group of dedicated and diverse professionals. Attorneys will work on litigation and non-litigation matters for a wide range of clients, from small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations across many industries. Depending upon experience, the attorney should expect to be involved in all aspects of our practice, including pre-complaint investigations, case analysis, strategy drafting and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, motions and other court appearances, administrative matters before various state and federal agencies, running the day to day aspects of arbitration and trials, mediations, advise and counseling, and legal research and writing on a wide variety of areas. Experience in traditional labor is a plus, but not necessary. Litigation will generally consist of single-plaintiff EEO, PAGA and other class/collections action litigation. Experience and interest in business development is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in employment law defense litigation in California.
  • Successful candidates will be highly motivated and responsive, have excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills, value a collaborative team environment, and will be prepared to work independently and assume significant responsibilities.
  • Juris Doctor.
  • Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of California.
  • Must have a California bar license.
  • During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Class/collective action experience is preferable.
  • Experience in traditional labor is a plus, but not necessary.
  • Experience and interest in business development is preferred, but not required.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
