About The Position

Provide strategy, vision, leadership, and direction for Kroger platform engineering in a hybrid environment. Lead the architecture, engineering, and operations of a highly scalable and resilient IT infrastructure. Responsible for the strategic direction and operational excellence of computer, storage, backup, and virtualization platforms supporting over 70,000 physical and virtual servers, supporting 4200 locations, and 2600+ retail locations, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and an e-commerce platform. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years successful experience as an administrative manager of large Infrastructure interdisciplinary teams and complex multi-stakeholder projects within an Infrastructure environment
  • 5 years’ experience in delivering innovative results in previous roles and have strong knowledge of industry trends and industry competition related to Infrastructure organizations
  • Demonstrated capability to build, mentor, and maintain an inclusive team-based environment
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills when working with all levels of the organization and external vendors
  • Proven experience leading positive changes, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions while fostering effective architecture/technology and operational practices culture.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to produce strategic documents, present ideas and solutions to non-technical audience and listen effectively to understand user needs
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows, Unix, Mainframe and Advance Storage technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in Cloud and On Prem Identity Management
  • Must have expertise and experience in business case development, product scoping, and project planning with development teams

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the infrastructure and platform engineering vision and roadmap aligned with enterprise-wide digital transformation and growth objectives.
  • Drive innovation, operational efficiency, platform modernization, and cloud transformation, ensuring that the infrastructure and platforms enable business growth, application scalability, high availability, and resilience.
  • Develop and implement a hybrid/multi-cloud strategy (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring agility, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Actively participate in developing and implementing Enterprise Platform Engineering service for a highly functional digital performance platform and maintain archival servers and resources.
  • Work with technology partners to develop and maintain the enterprise infrastructure architectural plan including global infrastructure device standards, configuration, and manufacturer standards.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive, and innovative culture with strong focus on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar infrastructure budgets, optimize cost efficiency, and lead vendor negotiations/partnerships.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback on direct reports.
