Varsity Spirit, A Varsity Achievement Brand, is looking for a motivated and mechanically minded individual to join our Press team as a Komori Press Operator . This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and producing high-quality printed materials on the Komori Offset Press. Experience is preferred but not required — we are willing to train the right person who brings a positive attitude, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn a challenging and rewarding trade.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn complex equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Team-oriented mindset and positive attitude.
  • Basic computer literacy for operating press controls and job tracking.
  • HS Diploma or GED (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous pressroom or manufacturing experience (Komori or similar press operation is a plus).
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous related experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor Komori Offset Press equipment to produce printed signatures that meet Varsity Yearbook’s quality standards.
  • Perform press checks and color adjustments as needed to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Monitor press performance and troubleshoot mechanical or quality issues as they arise.
  • Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and mechanical adjustments to keep the press running efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other operators, helpers, and maintenance staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely job completion.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Assist with plate mounting, ink changes, blanket washing, and general press upkeep as assigned.
