About The Position

It’s a great time to join Velcro Companies ! Work Shift: First Shift - Somersworth (United States of America) Work Shift Time: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday Job Objective: Ties in beams on looms, following established Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to be certified to complete lockout/tagout operations and complete Hazardous communications training.
  • Ability to be certified to operate powered industrial trucks as listed below.
  • Proficiency in reading dials and instruments.
  • Ability to accurately complete basic paperwork and data entry.
  • Ability to wear hearing protection.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination.
  • One to three months of experience operating basic machinery.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to learn independently including book, web-based and classroom participation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous textile experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Safely tie in beams on looms operating a knot tying machine or manually.
  • Maintain quality standards and clean work area.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance on knot tying equipment.
  • Obtain basic certification on weaving function.
  • Ability to draw-in broken ends from tying process/ assist weavers when needed.
  • Accurately complete necessary paperwork.
  • Follow standard operating procedures.
  • Accurately complete necessary production paperwork and data entry.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Excellent attendance required
  • Full time presence required
  • Ability to work overtime as required or requested including extended shifts and weekends.
  • Additional tasks as assigned
