Apply today to become part of the Universal team! 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Rate : $22/hr Basic Scope/Purpose The kit creation technician is responsible for designing, building and modifying a wide variety of conveyances by which to safely transport material to and from the customer’s assembly areas. The kit creation technician will work in conjunction with the kit creation lead engineer to prioritize daily activity in accordance with customer requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma
2+ years’ experience in a hands-on technical/craftsman role (i.e. builder, carpenter)
Technical knowledge of power tools
Creative problem-solving
Customer focus
Multi-tasking ability
Strong work ethic
Positive attitude
Team player
Basic computer skills a plus (Microsoft Office, email)
Engineering experience a plus

Nice To Haves

Familiarity/prior experience using a water jet cutting machine a plus
Engineering experience a plus

Responsibilities

Builds and modifies kits and conveyances per customer requirements
Promotes a ‘winning business culture’ in correlation with company values by consistently demonstrating service excellence and a professional demeanor
Takes an informed approach in addressing daily tasks, working well under supervision as well as independently.
Able to work safely and comprehensively with a variety of common power tools (i.e. saws and drills), as well as quickly acquire familiarity with more specialized equipment (i.e. water jet).
Effectively communicates any issues/troubleshooting opportunities to kit creation lead engineer as they arise
