Chetola Resort is seeking a reliable and hardworking Utility/Dishwasher team member to help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This essential back-of-house role supports the culinary team by ensuring dishes, utensils, equipment, and food prep areas are sanitized and ready for use. The right candidate takes pride in keeping things clean, can work independently, and contributes to a positive and productive kitchen team culture.

Requirements

• Every plate, glass, utensil, and piece of equipment is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected—free of streaks, residue, or water spots before returning to service
• Dish areas, storage shelves, and prep spaces are kept orderly, labeled, and consistently stocked to support seamless kitchen operations
• Maintain a continuous focus on cleanliness throughout each shift—promptly clearing debris, spills, and clutter to uphold a safe and sanitary environment
• Follow exact procedures for sanitation, chemical usage, and machine operation to ensure health and safety standards are met every time
• Proactively identify and address issues such as chipped dishes, malfunctioning equipment, or sanitation concerns before they impact service
• Anticipate the needs of the culinary team by ensuring clean items are always available during peak service times
• A dependable team player who values cleanliness and organization
• Willing to roll up your sleeves and take initiative behind the scenes
• Calm under pressure and able to multitask during busy meal periods
• Takes pride in supporting others and contributing to smooth kitchen operations
• No prior experience required—training will be provided
• Ability to follow instructions and complete repetitive tasks with consistency
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot, humid environments

Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwashing machine to clean and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and kitchenware
• Hand-wash larger pots, pans, and specialty items as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of dish stations, sinks, and surrounding kitchen areas
• Dispose of trash and recycling, following proper procedures
• Assist with basic food prep tasks such as peeling, portioning, or labeling
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors regularly to ensure a safe, sanitary work environment
• Restock clean dishes and supplies in designated storage areas
• Help unload and store deliveries as directed
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisors
• Work quickly and efficiently to support a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Assist with other duties as assigned by chefs or kitchen supervisors
