About The Position

The Kitchen Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen within a food service establishment. This position is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen activities, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. The Kitchen Supervisor ensures that all food preparation and presentation meet the establishment’s standards and customer expectations. They coordinate with other departments to ensure timely service and resolve any operational issues that arise. Ultimately, the Kitchen Supervisor contributes to creating a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Certification in food safety or culinary arts.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain consistency and adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations within the kitchen area.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
  • Train new kitchen employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and service flow.
  • Address and resolve any kitchen-related issues or conflicts promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of kitchen operations, including staff schedules and food safety logs.
