About The Position

The Kitchen Supervisor provides the overall management of food services and supervision of kitchen staff complying with city, state and federal laws regarding food handling and preparation within the Carol’s Place Safe Haven, ensuring to maintain a welcoming, safe and supportive community environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Hiring, Scheduling & Evaluations of kitchen staff  Coordinating the purchase, rotation, inventory and stock maintenance of food & kitchen supplies Prepare, cook (from scratch & recipe), and serve meals and/or snacks to residents and their children Ensure the provision of quality support and services to our clients Create and implement operational plans for required food operation  Plan, prepare and represent the agency in external food related inspections Ensure overall cleanliness of the kitchen, food storage areas and dining area Pickup, delivery, loading and unloading of food and supplies, as needed (including driving agency vehicles) All responsibilities are implemented according to our mission and values and according to Agency standards.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) + years’ experience in an institutionalized (high yield) food preparation & storage.
  • One (1) + year supervisory experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Passing of MVR.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dietary menu preparation and state regulations for food preparation & storage.
  • Valid ServSafe Food Handler and Manager Certifications. Must maintain post hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and comprehend in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service of others.
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse, Criminal & FBI Clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional food service or culinary education.
  • Supervisory experience within a food service environment.
  • Bilingualism or Conversational in a language in addition to English.
