About The Position

The Hilton Austin Airport is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor to assist our Executive Chef in the day-to-day supervision of our hotel kitchen operation. Who We Are: The recently refreshed Hilton is located in the historic Air Force command building right on Austin-Bergstrom International Airport property. We are proud to be Austin's gateway full-service hotel. The hotel is managed by Pittsburgh, PA based Prospera Hospitality, with over 20 years of property management experience in hotels, restaurants, and convention centers. What You'll Do: The Kitchen Supervisor will supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items, and also work with the Chef to manage the department of hourly kitchen employees. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and weekend and holiday availability. This person will oversee the PM Culinary staff. Evening availability is required.

Requirements

  • Requires refined communication skills, strong leadership and relationship skills.
  • 3+ years of previous kitchen experience preferred.
  • Culinary degree or related kitchen experience is preferred.
  • Candidates should be able to perform all intermediate and advanced cooking skills.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and have a passion for teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of previous kitchen experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach the culinary team to consistently deliver exceptional guest service while fostering a positive and engaged work environment.
  • Serve as the Lead Line Cook , assisting other stations during peak service periods while maintaining focus and accountability for one’s own station.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Produce a consistent, high-quality food product that meets and exceeds guest expectations in a timely manner.
  • Monitor daily food production to ensure quality, consistency, proper labeling, wrapping, and storage of all items.
  • Ensure all kitchen facilities and equipment comply with safety, sanitation, and health department standards at all times.
  • Lead and support departmental training initiatives, including onboarding and ongoing skill development.
  • Assume departmental leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Chef.
  • Assist with monitoring employee breaks, meal periods, and overtime to ensure compliance with labor guidelines.
  • Conduct daily station checks at the beginning of each shift to identify low stock items and prepare for service.
  • Notify the Chef promptly when products or supplies are running low and need to be reordered.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment, including walk-ins, freezers, and storerooms, ensuring all items are stored in their proper locations
