The Fire Suppression Technician performs a broad range of maintenance, repair, and installation support, also incorporating inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of kitchen hood suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Inspecting and repairing pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems. Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems. Perform system repairs which includes installation of nozzles and piping and installation, removal or replacement of agent cylinders Perform inspection, service, repair and maintenance of wet and dry chemical fire extinguishing systems/portable fire extinguishers. Identifying potentially unfavorable site condition that could compromise the performance of mechanical and/or components of the system. Performing on-site emergency troubleshooting of fire suppression systems. Maintain proper documentation for all work performed. Additional Requirements: Pre-employment Drug screen & Clean MVR; overtime may be required.
