About The Position

The Kitchen Cashier position at Vallarta Supermarkets involves operating the cash till, greeting customers, completing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized workstation. The role requires assisting in food preparation and participating in company marketing events. This position is available in both full-time and part-time capacities.

Requirements

• Follow dress/uniform policy.
• Must obey all State and Federal guidelines regarding health and safety policies.
• Wear clean complete uniform at all times: black pants, white Vallarta polo shirt, black non-slip shoes, dark socks, hair net/Vallarta hat, and clean apron.
• Wear safety glove when using knives.
• Wash hands frequently (at least every 20 minutes) with hot water and anti-microbial soap from elbows down for no less than 20 seconds.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash till, balancing the till at the end of your shift.
• Greet all customers in a friendly manner.
• Complete all sales transactions: Cash, Credit Card, Debit Card and Food Stamps.
• Bag merchandise after sales transaction is completed and paid for.
• Thank customers for their patronage.
• Know weekly specials.
• Sign in and out for breaks.
• Follow the cash irregularities policy.
• Maintain assigned work area clean at all times (sweep, mop, clear of dirt, etc.).
• Maintain a workstation that is organized and stocked.
• Assist Cook in preparing food.
• Follow management directions and promote teamwork.
• Assist and participate with Company marketing promotional events and programs as needed.
• Perform all other assigned job duties.
